This website, northernriversmould.com.au, is operated by Mark A Jeanes (ABN 11 229 027 126) under the brand Northern Rivers Mould Removal (“we”, “us”). We take the privacy of the people who use this site seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It is written to reflect the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through a quote form on this site, we collect what you type into it:
- your name
- your phone number and/or email address
- your suburb or town
- your description of the job, what you’re seeing and smelling at your property and anything else you choose to include
If you email us directly, we collect what your email contains. We don’t ask for sensitive information (financial account details and the like), and a mould enquiry doesn’t need it. If you choose to mention health symptoms as part of describing the problem, that detail stays inside your enquiry and is handled the same way as the rest of it.
Like most websites, this site also uses Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use it (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). Analytics data is not used to identify you personally.
Why we collect it
We collect your enquiry details for one purpose: to operate a referral service. That means:
- reading and reviewing your enquiry;
- screening out spam;
- and, where an independent local contractor is confirmed for your area, referring your enquiry to that contractor so they can contact you, inspect and quote.
We don’t use your details for marketing lists, and we don’t sell them to anyone.
Who we disclose it to
Your enquiry may be disclosed to one independent contractor, the business your job is referred to, which quotes and contracts with you directly. Where licensing is required, that contractor’s identity and licence details are provided to you before you accept a quotation. We pass your details to no one else.
The site and its enquiry storage run on third-party hosting and infrastructure services. Those providers process data on our behalf and may store it on servers located outside Australia. We don’t otherwise disclose your personal information overseas.
How it’s stored
Enquiries are stored in the site’s secure database, accessible to the operator. We keep enquiry records while they’re needed to run the referral service and to meet record-keeping obligations, and delete or de-identify them when they’re no longer needed.
Access, correction and withdrawal
You can ask at any time:
- what we hold about you; we’ll tell you;
- to correct it; we’ll fix it;
- to withdraw your enquiry; we’ll stop any referral that hasn’t already happened and delete your details from active use.

Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, email us first at the address above and we’ll respond. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
